A Quiet, but Not Silent Online Retreat
for Women with Jan Lundy
Sunday, May 3: 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. ET
Via Zoom

Welcome to this meeting place~
   Of contemplation, connection and deepening.
   Of reflection, silence, and prayerfulness.
Of opening our hearts to Loving Presence for guidance and deep care.

The spirit of writer Anne Morrow Lindbergh, author of Gift from the Sea, inspires this retreat. Each year, Anne rented a little cottage on the island of Captiva, Fl, where she spent two weeks all alone, tending her soul. She wandered the beach, collected shells and wrote reflections based upon them. She rested, she quieted the inner voices, and came home to deepest self. She wrote:

"Women need solitude in order to find again the true essence of themselves."

The world demands so much of us today. It is loud, energy-sapping, and constantly distancing us from what matters most--our innate sense of calm, clarity and wisdom. Social scientists have named the times we're living in as "The Age of Distraction." Unfortunately, we seem to be drawn toward what isn't good for us right now—into exhaustion, fear, and pessimism.

Recently, I find myself longing to get away from all of this. I crave an oasis—a beautiful, tranquil place where I can distance myself from the chaos, escape the noise, and deeply rest in peace and beauty. Do you?

There may not be such a perfect place in the physical world, but I believe that we can create a sanctuary such as this within ourselves, and go there whenever we wish.

This is what Anne attempted to do as well when she wandered the shores of Captiva Island, gathering up seashells. She wanted to restore her inner, spiritual harmony for well-being, but also to be able to return to her busy life carrying this harmony with her—for the benefit of her family and the world.

This Spring, please join me for "Island Time" and together we will create your ideal, safe harbor where your soul can be at ease, fully connected with the Sacred to receive the nourishing waters of spiritual replenishment and restoration.

In this quiet, but not silent, retreat, you will

• Enjoy a sacred space to explore what "island time" looks like for you uniquely; then we'll enjoy it—together!

• Experience how "all things water" can calm your body, mind and emotions for deep rest and renewal in your core.

• Find your "Resting Place": a somatic practice to locate a place of refuge in your body where you can truly let go and just BE.

• Learn how to bring your "island qualities" back into the busy world with you after the retreat to ensure daily, soul-nourishing island time, whenever you need it.

“Only when one is connected to one’s own core is one connected to others, I am beginning to discover. And, for me, the core, the inner spring, can best be refound through solitude.”

In this blaring and discordant world,
are you feeling the call to embrace solitude? Silence?
To tend your soul with
Island Time?

"But I want first of all – in fact, as an end to these other desires – to be at peace with myself.  I want a singleness of eye, a purity of intention, a central core to my life that will enable me to carry out these obligations and activities as well as I can.  I want, in fact – to borrow from the languages of the saints – to live "in grace" as much of the time as possible."

"The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. To dig for treasures shows not only impatience and greed, but lack of faith. Patience, patience, patience, is what the sea teaches. Patience and faith. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach – waiting for a gift from the sea.”
