Pastoral Counseling
Pastoral counseling is a kind of counseling that blends mental health awareness with spiritual care and practice for the benefit of the whole person. My counseling approach ("pastoral," implying the care and nurture of one's spirit and spiritual life) is non-sectarian, welcoming individuals of all religious and spiritual orientations.
I bring the totality of my life experience and training into the counseling relationship. This includes my training as a pastoral counselor, Logotherapist, and Grief Support Specialist; 25 years of service as a spiritual director/mentor in private practice and with varied spirituality centers; along with my lifelong career as an educator of perennial wisdom.
It also includes my passion for the spiritual journey—another lifelong pursuit—fueling my deep desire to integrate the spiritual life into everyday life so, as the poet Hafiz writes, I know in an embodied way that everything I do is sacred. This is my heartfelt desire for others as well.
Tremendous growth and healing can happen when we are able to address our "life issues" through both a psychological and a spiritual lens. Nothing short of miracles can happen; wholeness can be ours.

Note: The counseling I provide is non-clinical. I do not hold state licensure or take insurance. Additionally, if we work together, and I sense a need for clinical psychotherapy or psychiatry, I will recommend it to you. Pastoral counseling can be brief and situational, short term or long term depending on client needs and the issues brought forth.
